Hello, fellow book lovers and library enthusiasts! Today, I want to share a delightful experience from my recent library internship that perfectly blended nostalgia with family fun. As someone who has always been passionate about reading and community engagement, working at the library has been a dream come true. This week, I had the joy of reconnecting with my childhood through a beloved book series and making beautiful memories with my family.
Rediscovering "You're Invited to a Creepover"
While shelving books, I stumbled upon a series that held a special place in my heart: "You're Invited to a Creepover." As a child, I was practically obsessed with these spooktacular tales that gave me just the right mix of thrills and friendship. Each story was a delightful adventure, often filled with mystery and laughter, and seeing those familiar covers again was a nostalgic trip back to my formative reading days.
As I placed the books neatly on the shelves, I couldn’t help but smile at the memories they brought back—imagine late-night reading sessions with my flashlight under the covers or discussing plot twists with friends at school. Shelving these books felt like reuniting with old friends, and it made me so excited to think about all the kids who might discover them for the first time.
A Family Visit That Filled My Heart
To top off the day, my family decided to pay me a surprise visit at the library! It was such a joy to see my mom, sister, aunt, older cousin, and little cousin all in a place that brings me so much happiness. I couldn’t wait to share my world with them and show them everything I love about working at the library.
I whisked my family around, pointing out various sections and recommending some of my favorite reads. My little cousin, wide-eyed with excitement, got to experience the thrill of discovering new books. I showed him how to check out items, and together we explored the colorful stacks. Watching his face light up at the sight of all those stories was a magical moment, reminding me of my own childhood excitement.
Notes and New Reads
As we toured the library, my sister and I decided to take a creative detour to the art table. She cleverly left me a note there, a sweet gesture that made me chuckle. It was such an amusing little surprise that reminded me of the fun, silly moments we share as siblings. We both may have grown up, but it’s these little snippets of joy that make life so rich and meaningful.
My family also took the opportunity to explore the stacks and pick out their own books. I loved seeing the different genres and titles grabbing their interest. It was a collective celebration of reading—a reminder of how stories can connect us all, no matter our age or preferences.
A Day Well Spent
As the day came to an end, I felt a warm glow in my heart. My internship not only allowed me to immerse myself in the world of books but also created a space for family bonding that I will cherish forever. The library is more than just a place filled with books; it's a home for stories, connections, and treasured memories.
I am grateful for this internship that has brought me so much joy. I can’t wait for more adventures ahead, and who knows I might just stumble upon more childhood favorites while shelving. Here’s to the magic of libraries and the power of family!
