Preparing for a Bear-Themed Story Time: Embracing Autumn's Chill

At the library this week, the branch manager and I have been preparing for a story time for the autistic children I work with at the Action Behavior Center. We decided to do a bear-themed story time because of the chillier weather that fall has brought.

We have been previewing the library’s bear-themed books and have finally decided on our story, "Bear Can't Sleep!" We think the children will really enjoy this story, and we’re getting ready to pick out some songs we think they will like. We will split the story time into two parts to ensure there are stories and songs for different ages, and we will coordinate with my boss to ensure the event runs smoothly. My bosssuggested we use the children's gym area for our story time. We are a bit hesitant about this because we are worried the children will just want to play instead of attend to the story time; but I guess we'll just have to wait to see how it goes !

Anticipating Joyful Connections: Excitement for the Children's Reactions and Experience

The library branch manager is really excited about this story time because she has been eager to run one after not being able to for a while. It is so nice to have her excitement about this event, and she is really helping to bring positive energy to the planning process.

I am excited to see the kids' responses to the stories and songs. I know this will be an excellent opportunity to connect with the children and have a fun experience. It will be wonderful to create an environment for them filled with love and connection, and I can’t wait for the event!
